Pennard Carnival Choir Workshop Workshops for the Pennard Carnival Choir start on Tuesday 22nd June, 7.00 - 9.00 PM at the Community Hall next to the school in Pennard. If you already belong to either Murton or Pennard Group you do not need to attend these extra workshops to participate in the Carnival Performance on Saturday 17th July but if you are able to come along on Tuesday evenings it would really support my teaching and consolidate your learning.  I really want to encourage new people, who haven't been to any of my groups before to take this opportunity to come along to the workshops and experience being part of a choir.  It is also a great chance for those who have sung in my groups in the past but are not attending at the moment for whatever reason to dip back into the singing community without making any long term commitment. The workshops will be fun and there will be a practice CD to support learning.  We will be singing a selection of songs from Britain and around the world and as always, everyone is welcome, no previous experience of singing or music is needed and everything will be learned by ear. £20 covers workshops and the practice CD Please encourage any friends or colleagues who are contemplating joining a choir give it a go!  Anyone who would like to participate but is feeling unsure for any reason can contact me on 01792 234711 or 07726 310362 or Kate@naturalvoice.net The Community Choirs Open Day will take place on Saturday 26th June.  The morning will be led by me, Kate Davies at Bishopston Community Hall on Murton Green and will run from 10.30 until 1.00.   I will be teaching a selection of fun and easy harmony songs written or arranged by members of the Natural Voice Network.  The songs are designed to be sung by community choirs - from the very funny to the very moving - ideal for singing in the car or over the washing up! The afternoon will be led by Stuart Jones at St Paul's Church Hall Sketty from 2.30 - 5.00.  Stuart will be teaching harmony songs from around the world. After this, at the same venue, there will be a social and singing gathering.  Bring food to share between 5 and 6 PM and from 6 - 8 PM there will be a chance to share songs learned during the day and to hear what local community choirs have been doing lately.  We will also sing some songs as a big group. £5 per session or £12 for all day.  Accompanied children come free.  Contact Kate Davies 01792 234711, 07726 310362 or kate@naturalvoice.net to book.  If you sing regularly at Murton and only want to come in the morning there is no need to book.  If you also want to attend the afternoon and or evening sessions please book.
